Lovely to see the vintage cars being cared for as they should be.

Lovely to see the vintage cars being cared for as they should be.
We were pleasantly surprised at this museum, there was an eclectic range of interests from very old cars and motorcycles to some more recent exhibits all of which evoked memories and in particular those from the fifties and sixties. Several interesting video 'shorts' and an interesting account of the 130mph lap\of the TT. In the Donald Campbell hall a moving...

We had free tickets so possibly wouldn't have chosen to visit but we would have missed out on a memorable experience. The staff were really helpful, and took time to explain lots of the exhibits. If you are in the Lakes you should go and see this museum, even kids will enjoy the wonderfully restored old cars and exhibits including...

We appreciate your kind comments and recommendation. It is unfortunate that you missed the delights of Cafe Ambio which has a beautiful riverside setting. It is open daily from 10.00 until 17.00 (19.00 on Fridays) and is presently offering Diamond Jubilee Afternoon Tea. Cafe Ambio can be visited separately to the Lakeland Motor Museum. Well worth a visit if your...

Visited with my 40yr old son & my husband. I was not expecting to particularly enjoy the visit but went for their benefit. How wrong I was! Fascinating, so much more than motors. We particularly enjoyed the Manx TT room with video.
My husband is temporarily using wheelchair, I found the access everywhere faultless & I'm only a learner at...

We visited here on our honeymoon as it was raining! Hubby loves cars but I wasn't that bothered, however we both really enjoyed it. So interesting and brought back so many memories! We took so many photos to show our parents. Thoroughly recommend it. We did eat in the cafe which is a little expensive (but then where isn't?!). There's...

I am not particularly interested in cars, I took my Parents for an afternoon out and enjoyed my visit as did they. It was not too big but offered lots of talking points with immaculate cars and other vehicles from numerous generations.
Afterwards we had refreshments in the cafe which overlooks the river and offered nice views on the sunny...

Do not be fooled by the title of motor museum - there really is something for everybody. Can you imagine moving house with more than 30,000 exhibits and artifacts, well that is what they did starting in October 2008.
Having been well established at Holker Hall, a world famous country house for many years. The Lakeland Motor Museum took the...

Being honest I was only visiting because my husband wanted to but I was very pleasantly surprised because I really enjoyed it! Parking is free. The cafe has a lovely riverside view and tasty food. The staff are friendly. There's a shop for those with a need to buy when they're out and about. More importantly though the museum is...
