If you come to Derbyshire you have to walk here it's lovely.
My partner took my here for as part of my birthday treat - I was frankly expecting it to be sub-standard but boy - was I wrong!
The walk has its peaks and troughs, hilly parts and some lovely views.
I would recommend buying a map from the little snack trailer at the start - its 50p and points out...

Extremely busy because it was a lovely sunny day. Visit on a weekday when it's quieter & take a picnic. Arrive early so you can park on the road & not pay for parking.
Go here every now and then, such a beautiful area, really nice being able to walk the dogs and much better now there is a proper path

Doesn't need more explaining - you can't visit this part of Derbyshire without doing Dovedale!
Dovedale was lovely lots of walking and stunning views be prepared for lots of people and costs £2.50 to park. But beware toilets are absolutley disgusting, dirty and smell with no paper, towels or soap. go before you go!!.There is a kiosk for t and ice cream
But don't park at Thorpe. Instead, drive up the A515 and take the road to Milldale - parking is free and it is less crowded.
The walk along Dovedale is stunning - and if you want to get away from other people, just take one of the waymarked walks away from the river and within 100 yards you will experience...
