We have visited 2 or 3 times with nonagenarian parents and kids under 8. Everyone likes it and especially the experience of climbing through the chimney - yes, really. Worth the money just to do that. Nostalgia rules for the 2 older generations, but there seemed to be enough interactivity to engage the kids as well. Staff friendly if a... More

Some wonderful exhibits and a realistic school room although ma'am could have been slightly more ferocious. Haven't laughed so hard for ages, a good job as it warmed me up a bit. The museum was absolutely freezing and spoilt the whole experience. Dressing up section could have been more exciting but the kids enjoyed it and got lost in their... More

We (me, my husband and our 5 yr old son) visited the museum at the end of April 2012. We researched the price before we went and it said that a family price was just over £13 which seemed reasonable. On arrival we were told the price would be £20.20! Apparently the family price on the website is only for... More

Was a little disappointed with the content - expected to find more. Both the house and museum were cold.

It was fun to sit in seats just as I did in the 1940s and even have a 'teacher' to tell you off for 'talking'

We enjoyed looking back at the toys of our childhood and our children's. If you've got children with you there are lots of fun hands-on things for them to do.

A fun day out for everyone! We visited with couples of all ages and a 2 year old... we were all kept happy and entertained while we took our own individual trips down memory lane- identifying which toys we had back in our childhood. Each area has an activity station to keep those young enough not to yet have made... More

Very interesting, brought back memories, and plenty of interaction for the Grandchildren.

Dont expect this to be like a stately home. Takes you back to being a little child, lots to see and do. Try and find your old toys, memories flood back to that little child you once were. The kids love it too!

nooks and crannies to explore, a chimney to climb, great day out for children, nice idea for a wet day. Set in lovely grounds so if nice a picnic is a good idea.
