We had a glorious day to walk and did so for the whole day. There is so much to see both with the terrain providing lovely surprises as you walk and the views themselves were wonderful. We really only had birds for company for a large part of our walk, only meeting others at the beginning and end. The reservoir... More

Reminiscent of a Scottish Loch this is lovely walking country. The nearby Ladybower Inn provides sustinence. Easily accessed by car (beware motorbikes and some speeding cars) via the Snake Pass and close to Sheffield Moorland it is a scenic drive especially in the autumn.

We went to Ladybower to check out the fly fishing, there were four of us and two dogs, we parked just past the offices at the dam end of the reservoir. there were four graduated walks signed from the car park from gentle through to testing, there were good information boards dotted about and the scenery is spectacular on a... Ladybower is the same as any other Reservoir. If the stories my grandad told me about a town being underneath the water are true they need to make use of this fascinating story for tourists! Without all the myths it's just another lake. Boring.

We started our walk opposite the ladybower fishery office, walking then down past the dam, walked down to Lydgate lane and the right over the bridge and up carr lane. Did go up a very taxing set of steps, which, i do not think is necessary, but does give you a birds eye view of the area. I think the... More

I've been to the LadyBower on several occasions, and the traditional pub grub is consistently good. I also had Christmas lunch here 2010, and the three course meal for £50 was lovely. The only down side is the decor, there is a small dining area which I would recommend when booking as the general bar area is lacking in ambience... More
