My husband did this course as a birthday present from me. He loved it. It was - according to him - very informative encompassing geography, botany, the science of brewing and hands-on brewing. It was a small group of five so lots of personal attention - and he gets his beer delivered once it's ready! And he got a bacon... More

Had a really varied and interesting week on the Cookery Skills and Techniques course. Super facilities made even better by the wonderful kitchen assistants. A huge variety of dishes covered, encompassing knife skills, butchery and meat, fish and vegetarian, puddings and deserts, canapes and 3 course meal for friday evening. Everything was supplied and included in the fees. Lovely helpful... More

I spent a whole day in April making a variety of pastries. It has given me confidence to try a more varied selection of food. Following the success of that day I have just had another wonderful day doing Puddings and Deserts. I brought lots home, much of it freezable. The cheesecake is delicious! The staff are very friendly and... More

I attended a Tapa's evening last night at Tideswell School of Cookery, it was an excellent evening - Joe the tutor/chef went at a great pace, made it lots of fun and included everybody, the foods demonstrated and available to take home were absolutely delicious and I am inspired to plan a Tapas night at home very soon - can't... I now know why I have never been able to make bread before. What a great time we had focaccia, soda bread a white loaf and Chelsea buns later, the guys at home demolished it all when we went home. I have attended the baking day before, so am familiar with the logistics, always great friendly and learning a new... More

I should open this review with a confession - I live in Tideswell BUT I am not involved in this project in any way at all, I just wanted to go to food school in my village. I was not disappointed - I did the 2 hour Thai course for £30 and it was brilliant fun. Joe our Chef was... More

I went for a day course on Vegetarian Cookery with my veggy daughter - although I am not a vegetarian! Having never been on a cookery course I was a bit nervous, but need not have worried. Jo, our Chef, was extremely friendly and relaxed. My daughter has lots of food dislikes, but Jo managed to find alternatives and it... More

I got a ticket to "Men in the Kitchen" for Christmas. I thought I was OK at cooking but obviously not! The event was all day and ran as smooth as well oiled silk. There were 11 of us, all ages, Matt the Chef and several ladies in a side kitchen preparing things and making dirty pots dissapear. We started... More

We went to the baking cakes and biscuits half day class on sunday, our teacher jo was lovely and happy to answer any questions. The class was full but there was still enough space and equipment for everyone, We made two cakes, flapjacks, scones and biscuits. The recipes were simple and definitely aimed at beginners. Overall we had a really... More
