Here he shares the meanings behind the art, explaining how the paintings speak of the essence of life and the lores of his people. With his great smile and infectious laugh, Willie gives an amazing insight into Aboriginal society and shows how we all have a spiritual connection to land, wherever we come from. « less

My husband and I drove up to Cooktown on our honeymoon and one of the absolute highlights was Willie's amazing tour. It's a rare and special treat and an experience you wont get elsewhere. It is a real insight into a very different and valuable way of life, and delivered with a lot of humour and fun. As we drove... More

On this unforgettable walkabout around a pristine location, Willie guides you through a timeless place of ancient heritage, cultural exploration and interaction. Well travelled, Willie not only provides insight into local Aboriginal customs and history but also speaks of his travels overseas and understanding of other cultures as well. The narrative of the story keeper (Willie), the richness of the... More

This is one of the most interactive tours that I have taken anywhere in the world - and having worked as a tour guide on every continent I have some experience of guided tours. Willie Gordon takes you on a journey of many levels through his ancestral country near Cooktown. The landscape is worth the walk by itself but this... More

This tour is brilliant. I travelled from Melbourne to Cooktown just to take this tour and recommend it highly. The Guurrbi Tour is a very special experience. Absolutely unmissable, I had been looking forward to taking this tour for over a year and I wasn't disappointed, I was inspired.

If you do nothing else when you visit Northern Queensland you must do a trip with Willie. We were lucky there was only the two of us with Willie and it was a magical afternoon which just flew by. Willie gave us a great insight into the Aborigini culture and explained things with a clarity that anybody could understand. We... More

As I picked up a walking stick and followed our aboriginal guide down the trail, I sensed this wouldn't be a typical tour. For one, Willie Gordon often leads small groups (ours had seven). This afforded time to ask plenty of questions of Willie, who's warmth, passion and candor made it feel as if we were meeting a long-lost cousin.... More

Willies quiet, respectful manner and his deep knowledge and willingness to share this to educate and inspire others makes this tour an absolute must see. I cant wait to get back there and do another tour and continue the journey I've started. The tour is not just about indigenous heritage, but includes so much information that provokes deep reflection and... More

Willies tour was the highlight on my 3 months trip through Australia (my third trip to Oz). He led us into "bush" and after a couple of hours we left a place where I know humans can live , a place that you can call home. Willi is home in both cultures the native and the "white man`s". He is... More

Willie has a gentle, pragmatic and philosophical approach to the history of his people, and particularly his family, which is what this tour is largely about. Unlike so many rock-art tours, this one is highly personal - not only did Willie's family paint many of these beautiful pieces, but he continues to use them to tell the stories of his... More

A magical adventure filled with light, inspiration, knowledge of bush medicine and food, and the wisdom of spiritual truths. Willie is a truly beautiful man. We drove to Cooktown - a long way from Sydney - for this tour. Willie is grand, peaceful, kind and compassionate. He is creating a great cause for the reconciliation movement one client at a... More
