Once we got to the reef, it was very good. The colours (even on a cloudy day) were spectacular and it was really interesting to see what initially looked like rocks suddenly move. And there were lots of fish. However, we were disappointed with several things. The boat that took us to the reef was basically a taxi; it had... More

Thanks to Calypso for our trip to the reef. We took our 7 month old on the boat with us and they were more then accommodating.

I dived in the reefs near Cairns, Mission Beach and Whitsunday Islands, and i must admit that Eddy Reef (the one Calypso brings you to) is the best one! It's cheaper than reefcruises in Cairns, the reef is a lot better (not as damaged) and it's with small groups, so you can see a lot more!!! I got to see... More

Everything about this trip was just ok but i've had better trip experiences at Port Douglas, Townsville & Lady Musgrave. Being the only reef trip in town means they don't appear to go that bit extra. Staff were ok without the banter i've had on other trips, not much effort was made to connect fellow travellers, lunch was disappointing. Eddie... More

Early November I stayed on Dunk Island with my boyfriend and his parents (over from England). We were told by the activities centre that they hadn't been getting the numbers required to get as many trips out to Eddy reef. When one was going a couple of days into our stay, we didn't hesitate to book. There was no picture... More

We were blown away by Eddy reef. We have snorkeled quite a bit in our lives, including a trip from Port Douglas (on Aristocat), but this trip was the most amazing. The reef is horseshoe shaped which provided a great deal of protection from the currents of the ocean. The reef was so diverse and fish so amazing. The boat... More

We went out to Eddy Reef with Calypso Adventures and had one of the best days of our lives. The ride out to the reef was bumpy and some people on the boat were sea sick but really, this kind of weather is to be expected in April in Far North Queensland. Once at the reef we were blown away... More

The morning of departure my wife felt ill and then winds were 20kts on the seas. I called to cancel and they refused to refund me the money stating that ride out the reef would be a little bumpy but not bad and that all you must cancel the day before even if there is adverse weather. We decided to... More

We used Calypso to visit the barrier reef from our Dunk Island hotel. They were well organised and well equipped with everything you need for snorkelling or diving. The reef they visit is excellent with easy swimming and access to the boat. It's a great day out. One negative, if you are snorkelling, be prepared to pay a little more... More

All in all, my fiancé and I went with Calypso dive for 4 trips out to Eddy Reef and one jetski tour. There is a reason we kept coming back - phenomenal diving, snorkeling and crew! Diving - Advanced Open Water course We took our Advanced Open Water course with Calypso, and didn't regret it! Our instructor, Andy, kept us... More
