Columbus is an underrated city. There is a lot to see and do. A big variety of restaurants, sports venues, parks, water and other activities and culture. The Historical Society has more interesting exhibits than many others I have visited around the country that are twice the size. The area is relaxing, the layout works and it is easy to... More

I've driven by the Historical Center several dozen times and never realized it was there. There's actually a lot to see here; quite a few permanent exhibitions plus some temporary exhibits. There was also a performance the day we were there, I believe the performances change each month. March's performance is about a female Civil War soldier who dressed as... More

Full of the finest in Ohio's historical exhibits, and Pr- Historical as well. Located next to the Ohio State fairgrounds, it provides very ample parking and easy locational access by freeway or local routes. A must see if you are visiting Columbus, Ohio.

The center is comprised of two areas: the main building that houses the exhibits and the village that was created to look like small town around the time of the civil war. The museum itself has great exhibits that change periodically. Unfortunately, the village is only open for special occassions such as halloween and christmas, but are well worth visiting... More

So much to see! I love the restored village and the dioramas (sp?) in the museum.

I stopped in with my 2nd grader on Veterans Day. The American Soldier in photos exhibit was worth the trip alone, but is definitely the reality of war. Being from the West Coast, there was a fair amount of interesting things about the area that we would not have learned otherwise. There were 2 hands on areas for kids including... More

A good place for a school field trip, but not so interesting for adults. Ohio Village is okay if there's some event going on, otherwise it's pretty dull.

The best part of the historical society is the Ohio Village. Check out their website to see if the village will be open when you are in town. They offer many different programs through the year. We went to the All Hallows Eve event and it was wonderful! Lots of activities and a telling the "Headless Horseman" with an appearance... More
