It looks local politicians have badly exploited this natural beauty. Government is earning in millions out of this natural reserves but not returning anything back to really preserve flora and fauna. If they (government) is really serious about developing and maintaining these wild lives then they have to really look at in to this. I do have some suggestions to... More

Bad Road inside the santuary. Ups & downs with pathetic road condition makes journey uncomfortable. Its a 1 Hr Journey by Jeep. Lots of Deer & Birds will be seen. Elephant sighting is difficult & if seen you will be 300 mts away as it is considered danger to get closer to elephants.

The Wayanad Sanctuary or Muthunga as it is also known, is the same forest range adjoining the Bandipur sanctuary. As we had visited most of the JLRs, our expectations of spotting something was moderate. First and foremost, the no. of tokens that are issued are limited (to around 30) and so if you are really keen, make sure that you... More

The safari duration is of 1hour and goes through various lakes and waterholes on either side of the track. If you have luck and the time is proper, you will saw plenty of animals - herds of elephants near the lakes in the late evening (we had been in April), bisons etc. However, the wild cats were shy and didn't honour... It is closed in the rainy season for obvious reasons . It is closed in the dry season for fear of forest fires . No one has any idea when this sanctuary is actually open . Do something else , leave the wildlife alone . There are a lot of things to do in Waynad . We passed through the... More

This is very bad organised and it is so expensive. Again you have to pay an entrance fee for nothing, then you have to pay wherever you decide to do it: trekking, safari, etc. It's not worthy the money you pay to go in an the journey you have to do. Don't go. The place is nice but so bad... More

I was advised to do the 3 hour trek instead of the 1 hour Jeep ride because the Jeep noise scares the wildlife away. I was in a group of 5 and it was excellent. The guides were informative and found several groups of wild elephant for us to watch in addition to the deer, wild boar, giant squirrels and... More
