The museum is a sight for sore eyes. Very painstakingly put together, the information gives the visitor a thorough run-through of the ethnic tribal linage of the North East (of India). Not ethnically India - Indian because the British colonised and left behind for India to own - very little is otherwise known about the aboriginals of these hill states... More

The museum is not really a museum. All they have are murals, statues, models and paintings that describe the origin and lives of indigenous populace. It is worth the time and there are seven floors in that building beautifully categorized into different sections. Don't bother visiting the State museum near IGP after this as it is nothing but an older and dingy version of the same thing with lesser sections. Nice detailed breakdown of all the tribes and their lifestyle. Also don't miss out on... More

North east India is known for the number of ethnic groups that inhabit the land. They are different - in looks, in their dresses, in culture, in their handloom and handicraft. And this Center captures all of these. What more, you will be lead by a knowledgeable guide to explain you through the galleries. Built beautifully, it has galleries showing... More

Very logically arranged artifacts and information. It gives a good comprehensive view of the life in the North East. One should ideally spend a day there. Also, do not miss the film show at the end.
