Visited here last week and was pleasantly surprised. Very pretty place, with lots of well restored traction engines to see. The 2 fairground rides were spectacular- and it was lovely to go on them. The street organs were all demonstrated, and really made you feel back in the time. Would be nice to go to the Christmas show there. Definately... More

We have visited this fantastic museum for years, but having been there again this week, felt the need to put it into writing! If you like mechanical organs, Wurlitzers and Victorian fairground rides, then this is the place for you. There are two rides (originally steam powered) and it's possible to ride both of them, accompanied by fantastic fairground music.... More

A great experience. Steam engines , old fairground organs, and a couple of old fairground rides. The organist - Robert Wolfe has to be seen to be believed. The speed he can play the very complicated wurlitzer both with his hands and feet is amazing. A good basic restaurant and some lovely shops, a picnic area and kids playground complete... More

I was pleasantly surprised at our visit to Thursford. We visited in April 2012 and I admit the idea of looking at a lot of renovated steam engines and street organs didn't fill me with excitement but my husband was interested so I went along. The music from the organs was entertaining and we'd timed it right to see the... More

We go almost every year to the christmas spectacular and it is the perfect way to get into the festive mood. Included in the show is always the lovely victorian carousel and the resident organist - fantastic!

Yes its nice when you get in and very muical with the numerous muic heyday wagons. A time warp of english engineering, old fashioned fair ground rides and a heyday for yesteryear, it could though do with an outside attraction of perhaps a working steam engine to see how these mighty beasts worked. Good music from the wurlitizer and beautiful... More

As we were in the area and heard lots about this place we thought it would be worth a visit. We paid £22 including a tour, which turned out to be nothing more than a stroll around the dressing rooms looking at costumes, dressing rooms and even the laundry room. This did include a short trip around the Fantasy Land... More

steam engines, fairground rides, street organs and Robert Wolfe on the " mighty wurlitzer" organ. The Xmas shows are amazing but get booked a year in advance.
