peace and relaxing on a quiet beach....several cafes of reasonable standard to enjoy acoffe/tea/ice cream...

Have not been here in 11 years.. Took my daughter crabing for the first tiem. The man made pool is still there and found 8 crabs. Great memories.. Easy walks down in to the town and Pier

. Always came to this beach as a child and brought my child when he was small still like to visit now and again. Also you can walk or ride your bike from southend through chalkwall to leigh beach There is a grass area if you dont like sitting on the sand, toilets and a small pool area.

It was cold but a nice morning - only average cos the tide was out and the mud was uninviting. Beautiful when the tide is in.

Beach is clean and facilities around very good. Not near the amusement arcade so no need to woryy about the kids asking to go on rides.

If your in the southend area this is the place to go. Quiet and relaxing, but great for the family.

Good for all day sun but needs more amenities. Ok for a for a quite sit and watch the river traffic.

Chalkwell beach and it's surrounding area is fantastic Excellent beaches and clean sea Nice kiosks and cafe called SANDBANKS lovely food and good service Would definitely recommend to try They have Deckchairs along the beach just ask one of the boys and they are very helpful 5 *
