Good day out, lots to do and see. Especially in good weather, not much parking and can be expensive though

I don't like city beach, it has ripped the soul of out Southend Seafront. And it's not even a city. Grrr - the lightposts are HORRIBLE.

The city beach looks very nice and I would imagine is popular on a hot sunny day.

A lovely long flat beach, with a coulpe of restaurants on it, and shops across the road. Small stones and sand. making it easy to walk on.

We spent the day here with family, on a gorgeous day with the sun shining. Had a problem with a man on the childs beach with a snake which the staff of a local restaurant sorted straight away, Couldnt fault it, perfect day out

The weather was fair and City Beach was busy. They have a fantastic pavement fountain which all the kids and one or two elders were thoroughly enjoying! shingled beach, nice and quiet, would prefer a sanded beach but never-mind no issues with this beach, nice front also good for a day out.

Lovely when the crowds from London are not about on the beach, The funfair is brilliant for kids but you have to buy a wristband.

City beach as recently been developed, the main section of the seafront in Southend used to be traffic dominated, the council have narrowed the road and increased the pedestrian area with new paving and mediterranean gardens.
