We used our gps arrived 1pm cafe not crowded quite nice food. Enjoyed the Italian garden very large walled area and the tulips were magnificant. In another week it would be too late and you should wait until the roses bloom might be 6 weeks away. The castle was great you could do more than an hour its some 3...

Went on a day with the sun shining which always helps. The grounds were fantastic and in a spring bloom however the roses were not which I have been told is a highlight. The castle is smallish by comparison with others in the broad area but it is still filled with interesting stuff especially from Henry VIII. In July I...

I have visited this castle several times and loved it to bits - it is my favourite castle because it is small enough to be able to imagine yourself actually living there. The Tudor period is my favourite period of history and this connection adds to its attraction.

On our recent - and first - trip to England, we definitely wanted to see a castle, and what a great choice! We had a picnic next to the pond, and enjoyed the grounds just...

We went on a Bank Holiday weekend and although it was busy it wasn't a problem, there is always enough room for everyone. The gardens are astounding and so well kept, we went in May so all the tulips, daffodils and pansies were out and it was stunning. Would love to go later in the year when the roses are...

One of the most famous English Castles on the 'must see' list in the United Kingdom and very influential in the shaping of British Monarchy and indeed the notoriety of King Henry VIII.
