Be very careful when thinking of visiting this ugly metal shed. I traveled some 150 miles from Norfolk to find that the exhibitions were changing and there was nothing to see. In addition Margate has some attractive buildings, although many are in an appalling state of disrepair, but the Turner Contemporary, surely misnamed as you will not see any Turner... More

I went to Margate especially for the Turner and the elements exhbition at the Turner contemporary and it was well worth it. It's a good gallery, with a clear orientation on education. Great cafe. Great location.

The exhibition was good but could of been laid out a little better. Not sure what is to follow the Turner exhibition as Margate is not easy to get to by car and will need something good to attract us back again. The sea front is a depressing area, but the old part of the town is worth walking around.... More

A wonderful building and much needed in Margate. People viewing painting should really stand back from them a little, what is the use of viewing something two inches away? Maybe the pupil need an education. Enjoyed the experience but it some ways I was inspecting more. The cafe area is a place to avoid, over run from the public and... More

The Turner exhibition was superb and the cafe is very novel but the view from the first floor passageway is quite staggering. The people of Kent are so lucky to have this on their doorstep.
