My wife was very impressed by the trip round the creamery and introduced me to the delights of Wensleydale cheese and fruitcake.

My wife and I used to look forward to lunch at the creamery on our visits to the area. It has now been expanded and turned into a fair representation of a motorway service area fast food outlet. It is probably a good move commercially as it is now frequented by coachloads of visitors but we will not return.

This is a fun place to visit if you're in Wensleydale. You can see the cheese being made and enjoy the fantastic food in the restaurant. The gift shop has some great items and the cheese-tasting room is an absolute must. Fans of Wallace and Gromit will enjoy this. Have fun!

When passing through Hawes, we stopped at the place where Wensleydale cheese is made. We didn't visit the museum but the shop had over a dozen varieties of cheese to sample. We purchased a few different varieties to eat when we get to our accommodation in the Lakes District. Oh and we didn't forget the crackers!

Lots and lots of delicious cheeses to sample, friendly staff, and a tour. And of course, this being Wallace's favorite snack, there is plenty of Wallace and Grommit on sale.

The Wensleydale Creamery produces all kinds of cheeses. In the shop one can sample about 20 different cheeses. We arrived a bit late so we only saw the last part of the cheese making process. But we lucked out, we were able to attend a private demonstration of cheese making in the museum auditorium. Very interesting! The villages of Hawes... More

Interesting morning. Great cheese shop with tasters - you have to go through the gift shop to get to it.
