Having visited in Early November I left somewaht disapointed. The garden is more about the revenue stream than being a plantsmans garden. It lacks maturity and scale.............. the winter season should be significantly discounted. A lesson should be learnt from the gardens at Chatsworth that allow access to the full park at all times of the year more

Northumberland is filled with castles - many with great gardens. This is border country and a beautiful area with tons of history. So, when we paid £38 for two adults (yes £38 - you read that right), we were expecting something (a lot actually) extra. Well worth a visit lots to see the gardens, castle grounds and outbuildings and the inside of the castle is a definate must see and don't go without seeing the amazing tree house. Highly recomended for families and couples more

having been to the castle on numerous occasions we had a trip up to the gardens recently. Have to say we were disappointed, could only really spend 90 mins walking round the gardens and if it wasnt for the kids getting wet in the fountains we would have left after this time.
