Wow! What an amazing place. It is so totally far removed from the traditional concept of a museum. Not boring in any way, whatever your age; there is something to interest each generation. The amount of objects displayed is truly awe inspiring, taking you back through the decades, seeing things you had forgotten all about. It provoked such happy, long-lost... More

This is an absolutely amazing place to visit. There are thousands of items displayed under different headings, ie Games and Toys, Advertising, House and Home etc. Every inch is packed to capacity with everyday items from years gone by and you could visit several times but still find things that you missed before. We all kept pointing and saying things... More

Fantastic display of memorabilia of days gone by without it being a typical boring Museum. You can just look and remember the past. Interesting for Men, Women and children who can all see something they remember. Even though I have been before I still saw different things that brought back new memories. I will certainly go again if I am... More

The place is crammed full of interesting items (including the ceiling) from the 1900s over 3 floors. The gentle sounds of music from a bygone era compliment the experience. There were 2 electric stairlifts (didn't test these) but the walkways are very narrow and unsuitable for a wheelchair. The cafe looked lovely and comfortable but after walking round the exhibits... We are a family of 5 and went to the museum on spec and really enjoyed it. This was memorable for us because WE ALL ENJOYED it. There's normally a fair amount of compromise with 2 adults and 3 kids and so that is quite special. We are going back again tomorrow; for us it is worth the 45 minute... More

It's definitely worth a visit if you are nostalgic of the past, or simply interested in memorabilia past and present. Contemporary items include the first mobile phones, Harry Potter posters etc. You wander through narrow strips of flooring surrounded by all types of memorabilia stored from floor to ceiling in cupboards, pinned on walls, cascading over other items. There is... More

This is a privately run museum which is full of 20th century epherema, collected over 35 years. It was mentioned in the Guardian's "Secret Britain" series so my husband and I thought we would give it a go, as it is only about 70 miles from where we live. We rang to establish that they would be open on Easter... More
