Small hill with ruined Church with extensive 360% views
Haven't been for a while but it's a lovely little stop off on the way to Street or Glastonbury.
Maybe worth a trip if you are lunching/driving through the area.
There isnt much here except a ruined church on a mound looking out on the sedgemoors
If you enjoy a little uphill walking you will love Burrow Mump, an easy walk and the views from the top are spectacular.

Fantistic, the history in this area leaves us in awe
I was amazed to learn that this is a natural hill as, standing 24m high, it’s reminiscent of a burial mound. It’s really distinctive & looks all the more dramatic because of the flatness of the surrounding Somerset Levels.
The name sounds like something from the U.K. T.V. series, “Midsommer Murders”; apparently, both “Burrow” & “Mump” mean “hill”.

its on my cycle circuit, so i often go for a walk to the top to admire the view and eat a pasty or two bought from the superb bakery in the nearby village of othery. bakery is closed on sundays, and possibly monday too i cant remember. small carpark at the base, and at the top are the ruins...
