I've been to Hampton Court Palace twice and found it really interesting on both occasions. I wish I could have spent more time there; there's just so much information to absorb! I particularly liked seeing the kitchens and also Anne Boleyn and King Henry's intertwined initials in a section of wood. The gardens are lovely too. I'd like to go... More

Given Henry's iconic status, worldwide, it is fascinating to see where he lived. Particularly interesting are the logistics of the palace, which are clearly explained in the free audio guide. Also, the context of Henry's marital "issues" are clearly explained, despite their complexity. In fact, this is really two palaces, because, at the "back" is an additional wing built by... More

On out latest visit to the UK I took my daughter and granddaughter to see it too and they had a great time but the real surprise was the beautiful gardens which I have not fully explored in the past. The daffodils were out and they were... More

What a wonderful step back in history. Audio guides provided excellent, informative commentary and the palace staff were helpful and knowledgable. The presence of King Henry himself, a number of servants, talented musicians playing harps & whistles amongst other instruments added to the enjoyment of the day. We enjoyed a simple meal in Tudor style in the cafe and ended... More

Arrived by boat from Kingston. Would recommend wholeheartedly since views from the river are lovely. Impressed by the bewildering size of the palace, since I was only expecting a Tudor mansion. Everything is well organised and the staff exceptionally helpful. Of most interest I felt was the State Bedchamber exhibition outlining the role of the monarch's bedroom in politics throughout... I had my reservations and all that...but it exceeded my expectations on every level. Every area has been restored with great care. The history here is astounding, the beauty of the place and the gardens, will give you decades of memories. Once you see this place you will have a better grasp of just how decadent Old King Henry VIII... More
