A trip from Londons Clapham Junction to Haywards Heath, West Sussex by rail and then by bus to Wakehurst Place makes a refreshing day out in the beautiful English countryside. The bus from opposite the Haywards Heath rail station drops you off at the gates of Wakehurst Place and back again to the station. Wakehurst is specially charming in the... More

Visit Wakehurst place 3/4 times a month as a National Trust member. The staff are always friendly and the park is always spotless. You can get lost for hours here on a Sunny day, great for picnics too!

A lovely place to walk around, peaceful but not really disabled friendly as there are some very steep paths, steps and uneven surfaces. The is a lovely cafe with good food at reasonable prices. If you want to see a good show of rhododendrons and azaleas... More

Love Wakehurst Place. Great walks, wonderful grounds anytime of the year. Two lovely cafeterias, fantastic shop for unusual gifts and plants. We have made many visits to Wakehurst over the years!

National Trust property - so free to members but a little pricey for non-members, check the website for prices if you plan to take the kids. This is a great place to supplement a visit to Wisley Gardens and Kew - it has some unusual plants but is also interesting for those who just like visits. 1. it is the... More

We have NT memebrship so we try to visit as many places as possible but go at whatever speed the children feel like....The seed bank is facinating and the kids enjoyed the interactive bits. The gardens are beautiful, we have had plenty of picnics here. Out door garden games by the restaurant are fun, the school rooms are lovely and... More
