The 'small' waterfall near town is pleasant and worth a walk up there. Nothing spectacular. You can have lunch or a drink when you get there, too.

Be sure to check if the fall are running or dry before you go...otherwise it's great and there's a little place to grab a water, a beer and/or a snack when you arrive.

Two waterfalls, one close to the village. But allow four hours to visit the upper "cascadia". Take lunch and a swimsuit. Make sure you get good instructions and make sure not to miss the gate!! Most of the hike is quite easy with a few moderately tough spots.

I didn't know how to use this site to review "Yelapa" Mexico... The waterfalls was the only way I could get to review Yelapa... If you get to come to Yelapa, please take advantage and at least spend the night, if not a week. Most people just come on a two-hour adventure whenever they do a cruise, or some small... More

I loved the trail through the village and farms, seeing rural Mexican life up close. Then nature becomes dominant and the setting becomes even more beautiful and relatively pristine. It's a real contrast to the beach, a different world!

Walking through the cobbled streets, we met up with moms and kids on donkeys en route to school. Ranchers on mules with a donkey in tow, loaded up with firewood, bags of fruit, luggage, followed by 2 or three dogs. Family style taco stands, small stores selling drinks, snacks, etc. were prevalent during the first hour of the walk, then... More

The town waterfall is a pretty easy hike compared to the "up river cascades". It is shady and cool. A good get away from the hot sun in the afternoons.
