This park has several picnic and play areas. there is a lot of room to throw a ball, take a hike, and visit the sand dunes. Picnic tables are scattered most everywhere.
One of our favorite spots to ride to. Taking the motorcycles through the park is a great experience. You can smell the surroundings and well as see them. The fresh blooms, the smell of barbeques is amazing. There is a small lake to fish, a bird sanctuary and a gorgeous lodge to have an event.
Beautiful park, well maintained. Great for cross country skiing as long as we have snow.
I love simply selecting a trail and walking in the woods. Its so beautiful when there is a fresh snowfall on the trees and when spring has arrived. There are several lakes for fishing and they have Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gill and the main pond has giant carp. The kids will love hooking into one of those.
Oak Openings is one of Toledo's beautiful metroparks, part of a city-wide system that is excellent! The park has beauitful wildlife, trails, animals, butterlies, and is open to the public for no charge. Great way to get close to nature and enjoy the beauty of this area.
We go riding bikes here alot. The bike trails are really nice and well taken care of. If you like a nice peaceful bikeride this is the place to go. Some trails are packed stone and some are blacktop eather are great to ride on. You usually see some sort of wildlife there too. Enjoy!!
I have been walking the scout trail for years now. I feel it is the best way to see the park. If you plan to hike the entire 17 mile trail in one day make sure you pack a lunch!
I visit the park and hike the scout trail all year long and it is like a new place every...

Lots of trails through the woods, into the dunes, and along ponds and wet meadows. Nice picnic areas by the lake and plenty of parking. A gem in the Toledo area.
Oak opening is a great place to go and enjoy the outdoors. There are some shorter trails and some real long trails (up to 15 miles). The place was hit by a tornado a couple years back and some of the trails were still being cleared out the last time I was there, but should be taken care of now....
