Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The church has been demolished. There is only rubble there now. Please make others aware. This landmark should have been taken care of rather than destroyed.

The First Christian Church is historic in OKC because of her archiectural design. When built, it was considered quite unique and even over 50 years later, she is still unique. And as interesting as she is on the outside, she is even more so inside. A very different type of experience when seen from the inside. Really is a neat place.

R. Duane Conner designed the church and a one of the most talked about homes in the US in 1959 and '60, which sits at the NW corner of NW 36th and Newport. In OKC.
The home built by Joel Coley, who was one of the top 30 builders of the 60's and 70's. Was one of the most outstanding futuristic homes at the time and was showcased in McCalls, Better Homes and Gardens, and other publications. It featured movable glass exterior walls, and a unique roof design.
People lined up for over a block to see the interior of this dream home back at the time. This home, now the offices for Joel Coley Properties, is available for viewing during office hours. It has been slightly modified over the years, but the design is remarkable in the neighborhood of ranch style homes.

The Building has been listed as one of the 20 most significant structures of Oklahoma. Everyone driving I235 will notice the unique architecture of this Church. Rev. Bill Alexander had a vision of a futuristic Church--The Church of Tomorrow--today. R. Duane Conner of Conner/Pojezny--brought that vision to life. Built in 1956 most folks call it "the egg". It is situated on the abandoned Edgemere golf course with a creek running through the property. There is also an athletics building plus an outdoor amphitheater -- for concerts under the stars and indoor theater--The Jewel Box-- a theater-in-the-round (of course!) and Oklahoma's oldest Community theater.
The Dome of the main Sanctuary was built without interior support-- You are truly "Under the dome of free space. The round building adjoining the main structure are for Education and Entertaining. The acoustics inside the main sanctuary are unique allowing someone to whisper a pray at the center aisle and be heard at the exit doors.
There is a magnificent Pipe Organ and frequent guest instrumentalist from the Symphony.
This is a wonderful building housing an exceptional Disciples s of Christ Church.--The best thing is the friendliness of the members who welcome visitors with open arms!
