Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful capitol building. Be sure to take a tour. It was very informative. Renovations have recently been completed and it is spectacular. Been to many capitol buildings and this is one of the nicest. Don't miss the museum.

whether you are interested in politics or not the history in this beautiful building is worth your time - as are the grounds. need to check on opening times as these can change however free parking make it so easy to visit. The history and grandeur of the building make it a must see & it is free to enter too.

Beautiful place! I enjoy checking out state capitols and my friend was also pleasantly surprised. It had beautiful artwork, and they offered tours twice a day. Everyone was super friendly and informative.

Capitol building, As we drove up the road we noticed an Oil rig iin front of the Oklahoma State Capitol and found out it had a nicknamed of Petunia #1. The building is under some construction but still open. The staff and guards were very helpful. It was very beautiful and some really nice art work. But the House of Representees and the Senate weren’t open. You could only see the rooms from the hall. But we enjoyed the visit.

I visited four states in the Great Plains and one thing in common is I went to all 4 Capitols. It was hard to pick a favorite because they all had such great things. This one is beautiful and the most colorful in its modern refurbishment. In fact, this Capitol is much different today than it was 20 years ago. The exterior now has a dome that was left unfinished for nearly 100 years. However, it still sits on an active oil field with working derricks, which is so Oklahoma.

This is one of the youngest states with a Capitol only just over 100 years old. In fact the Capitol was moved here after the down began on a commanding hill just NE of downtown. Driving in from the north you see it and downtown standing apart above the low tree line. I am more used to seeing Capitols incorporated into the downtown of a city but here they are two separate districts.

As for the interior, you can see it on a tour that really focuses on the art within the Capitol. It starts in the new below ground visitor's center at the 1/3 replica of the statue on top of the dome. You then visit a series of pictures and murals, some that are still being added. You then go to the first floor that has the rotunda and chambers. Here you see the beautiful interior painting that looks like sunrise colors in Oklahoma. You will also get to see the Senate (red) and House (green) chambers if they are not in use.

I then walked around the exterior and got some great pictures of the outside with meaningful state symbols in the statue around it. While not as true to its history, it is beautiful in its new design and a great place for Oklahomans. I highly recommend the visit.

The inside of the Senate Room was quite beautiful. It was one of the nicer state buildings I have been in. The museum was also very neat.

Everyone working there were very helpful and friendly. We were able to walk anywhere - all doors were open. It is a gorgeous capital with tons of white marble. Who keeps this all so clean?
