We visited many museums along our trip from California and through the Columbia River Gorge. This was a nice museum and good experience. There is more than just a building here. If you are in Bend, you need to stop in and see a piece of northwestern history. This is a beautiful museum and plan on a couple of hours here. Their indoor and outdoor exhibits are great. They even have demonstrations outside of how a timber mill operates. The kids will love this place. They also have a great place for lunch and a very nice gift shop. more

This museum is one of the best. (I would rank it on a par with the Monterry Bay Aquarium, in terms of creative displays.) My trp to the high desert museum was absolutly amazing the animals and exhibits were awesome they even have a cafe and gift shop. I would recomend a visit if you are ever in bend. Also during the summer they have a teen program that is absloutly great, they are great with kids. more
