WAAAM is wonderful. Over 140 old cars and airplanes in running condition. I have visited multiple times and always see something new. The volunteers have great stories about many of the planes/cars so don't be shy to ask about a tour. This is not a flashy attraction, but as you wander the museum a growing sense of amazement overtakes you... more

This 2 year old Museum is such a treasure to the Gorge. The 60 antique planes are flown at least once a year and some much more often. As are the 90 antique automoblies and there is something for everyone even for the kids. more

We happened upon the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum while traveling through the Columbia River Gorge. The town of Hood River, Or is a great back drop for this HUGE museum. We spent about 2 1/2 hours just being amazed at what has been collected. We saw a few of the WWII planes fly, but better than that was... more

Antique planes, classic cars and motorcycles, guns, military vehicles, bikes fire engines and tractors - all in running condition! A superb collection! We were able to see things that we hadn't seen before. We spent 3 hours wandering the massive hangars and taking pictures. We spent 3 days exploring the Columbia River Gorge and had a variety of "options" on our list of activities and sightseeing. This museum was a very pleasant surprise. A little pricey ($30 for a family of 3), but it's a nonprofit and working hard to give a good experience - which it did. We're not big plane or car... more
