Have been there befor and would recomend Went for a hike and it was 90 on an uncovered trail that went straight down.everlone truned back after an hour. Had a delightful lunch and listened to part of a tour. more

By far the best skiiing I've ever done in the west Mt. Hood has 4 major resorts all within a 10 minute drive of the vacation home I stayed at. Hood River is a quaint town that offers something for everyone. The drive down the gorge is stunning. Make sure to stop at Multohnomah falls on your way. A dirve over the Bridge of the gods is a must also. Great fro dining shopping and wind surfing! more

From downtown Portland, Mt. Hood sort of resembles a fang or a shark tooth. (That is, when there's snow covering the mountain. Hood was kind of brownish-grey during my recent visit.) Unlike Mt. Rainier, which still looks a little intimidating even at the distance of Seattle, the summit of Mt. Hood appears almost delicate. It reminded me of an Alp.... more
