The setting is thoughtfully decorated to be inviting and comfortable. The wine is absolutely delicious and they are very generous about information and wine tasting. I highly recommend a stop here on the way, or from, the coast. It is a great treat to share a bottle once you have reached your destination.

Spent over 1.5 hours there tasting and chatting. The tasting room is very inviting, and we did feel like family, as many of the other reviews here said. We went to several wineries in northwestern Oregon on our vacation, and this one was by far and away the best, both in atmosphere and friendliness and in the quality of the... More

Frank and John were quite entertaining and knowledgeable of the winery as well as the surrounding sights and attractions. They were funny and accommodating hosts which made for a delightful experience on a random Saturday afternoon. We were able to taste several different wines for free with a bottle purchase and I quite enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall experience was... More

We visited Nehalem Bay Winery and could not have been treated better! Ray Shackleford (the owner) was pouring wine for us before we even asked! We weren't treated as customers, but as friends. We met Ray and John (the manager) and enjoyed talking with them while sampling their wine. My wife and I are fans of mead, and Ray's is... More

But at $30 a bottle we didn't buy any. We stopped at the grocery store and got a less expensive but equally as good wine to sip in the beach. The hostess wasn't friendly, seemed like we were bothering her.

I have visited several wineries over the years and have never been made to feel as unwelcome as I did here

Friendly staff. Yummy fruit wine and great mead. Only bottled mead I've liked so far (I brew my own).

We were given a coupon for a free wine glass at the Winery. The atmosphere was cute and it is just a little bit off the beaten path. The wine was ok but not great. They did not charge for wine tasting but used plastic glasses. If you are going up or down Hwy 101, it is worth a stop... More

Peach wine is always my favorite. But I have grown fond of the Hard Apple Cider, it is seasonal but always worth it. The staff is so welcoming and genuine! I can't say enough good, one of my favorite places to go out of the way for! :)

As me and three friends hitchhiked down Highway 101, we were picked up by Ray Shackelford. He stopped, had us pile in and took us to his winery. My first response to seeing the land was just feeling at ease, not very hard with the view of the mountains. Meeting the workers, I was struck by their generousness. WE learned... More
