Its pretty amazing when the water level is up higher than normal. There is a small pull off veiwing area off 99 that has a historical marker and a small walkway you can follow to go up and over 99, from there you can look into some of the broken windows on the abandoned mill in the middle of the... Maybe it's because it's so close to home but we always enjoy the Willamette Falls. The view is always changing with the level of the river so it's not a view that gets old.

This is a big, powerful waterfall - unique in Oregon. The entire Willamette River spills over the top in a rage that is unlike anything else. The problem with this natural wonder is that industrialization happened and you can't really get close to it. It's a shame because this would be a top tourist attraction if you could.

Gross Paper mills all around, concrete all around. Distories what the falls could have really been, or was in the past. Rich Oregon history though.

The photos in the brochures only picture the falls themselves....totally avoiding the rundown mills that surround it. Yes, the falls are beautiful but you see the old pictures of the Indians fishing along it and then look at it now and the delapidated mills just ruin it. No wonder the Indians and their families that used to fish here no... More

Had they panned half an inch to the right in the is picture you would see the huge disgusting mill (paper?) dumping frothing waste into the river that is directly (and smellily) below the falls. It just ruins it for me.

Two views I know of are from I-205 Northbound view point or drive through downtown Oregon City to viewpoint. The Oregon City viewpoint has a much better view. Great for photos!
