The Pearl is wonderful. Tanner Park where children play in the water. New buildings coming up to invite new neighbors. Stop by. Mosey through and shop at Nolita, Byzantium and Moniques. Have lunch at Piazza Italia. Take in the art galleries. Gather fresh food from the Farmer's Market and affordable hand-made everything at the Saturday Market under the Burnside Bridge.... more

We heard such rave reviews of the Pearl District, we couldn't wait to go! What a mistake! We walked and walked from our downtown hotel. It was just a bunch of ritzy home stores and expensive lofts and apartments. Also, for a Saturday afternoon, it was DEAD! If you want fun shopping and good coffee... go to Nob Hill instead.... more

I couldn't believe that I was in Portland!! This was the best "City" experiance that I have had. Art Galleries(The first Thursday of every month they shut the streets down and throw a great party), Cafe's (Piazza Italia), a 24 hour fitness to work out in, Free public transportation, great bars (Aura, Oba, Manzana for reasonable happy hour food) great... more
