The view alone is worth the trip, but world class skiing and snowboarding is the main draw. The spectacular view of Mt. Hood up close is worth a day trip, even if you are not into snow sports.

Although there's always an abundance of kids on the mountain and classes going on, they tend to give attention only to those in a group and if some kid needs some individiual attention or gets off on their own, they're likely to get lost!

Ski bowl is a bit closer to town and offers some cool family fun like snow tubing and night skiing. But if you are a skier, the real deal is just 30 minutes farther up at Mount Hood Meadows. Conditions are more reliable and the terrain is wonderfully varied.

3 adults, 2 high school age kids, and 2 middle school age kids were our crew. We bought a Sharing Spree deal for 3 hours of snow tubing for $10. That was great, but I would spend the $25 to do it again. Their season ends April 29. You can tube for 3 consecutive hours from 10 am - 6... More

The kids (4 of them) took lessons and they had a great time. The prices were reasonable.

I enjoy visiting Mt. Hood and while its not my favorite resort it offers great skiing and amazing views. If you get a chance I highly recommend taking a snow cat ride up past the top of last lift.

Highly dependent on the snow pack. When snow is aplenty you can have most amazing time (day OR night - with its excellent night skiing terrain). But when the weather warms up this place loses snow too fast to make it reliable.

Great varied terrain for all skill levels, plenty of runs to choose from. Lights galore, if you like night skiing.

I have been to ski bowl many times living in Portland. Every experience with the resort has been run ins with college kids who simply try to show off by riding by people too fast, and being visibly intoxicated and rude. The staff seems to not only turn a blind eye, but support this behavior. After 12 years of riding... More
