We went on a beautiful sunny afternoon in July 2009. The self service machine at the bottom took credit card for the $4 round trip. The ride to the hill top/Oregon Health Sciences Univ (OHSU) was spectacular. We could see Mt. Hood clearly in the distance. I agree with the previous reviewer that in order to get the optimal ride and view, weather must be agreeable and clear. Fortunately, weather turned out to be clear on our ride. I believe the self service ticket machine only takes cash. It is a $4.00 roundtrip to the Oregon Health Sciences Unversity. I bit up a dip and sway... more

If the weather cooperates (and that's a HUGE caveat), definitely spend the $4 for the round-trip ride. The tram itself is sleek and smooth sailing and it takes just a few minutes to get to the Oregon Health & Science University campus at the top. The views of Mt. St. Helens with her top missing (to the northeast of PDX)... more
