The "story" of this volunteer-built carousel is perhaps better than the actual expeience. I was disappointed that is was in a smallish modern building rather than outdoors. I'm sure the weather in Salem mandated that, but it did detract from the carousel's appearance and environment . The carousel itself is beautiful and testament to the community spirit of Salem. This park is so much fun! There are two play areas, one for younger children and one for the older ones. They are right next to each other so you don't have to seperate if you have kids of both ages. They have huge green grassy areas great for playing ball, frisby, etc. Some parks in Salem are covered in... more
