We loved Blue Heron so much that we had lunch there twice during our week in Northern, Oregon. The clam chowder was my favorite and the deli served up some great sandwiches. At first sight this looks like a really tacky tourist trap, but in fact most of the stuff for sale (mainly gourmet food items and wine) is high quality although high priced. The big surprise was the excellent lunch. Reasonably priced, extremely tasty and served fast. A fine selection of local wines for sale by the glass or bottle, too.... more

Blue Heron Cheese & Wine This was mostly a large retail barn where you could buy different gifts and gourmet foods (including many NON-local items). They did have a wine tasting area in the shop and a small petting zoo outside. If you don’t have much time, and aren’t too into shopping, I’d skip this stop. more

The Blue Heron is not as popular as the Tillamook Cheese Factory, but it definitely worth a stop.
