The Pearl S. Buck House is a worthwhile stop for both Buck fans and Bucks County natives interested in local history. The home is run by Pearl S. Buck International, the agency Mrs. Buck created to facilitate international adoptions. The tour, given by a knowledgeable docent, provides a thorough history of Mrs. Buck's life, including her childhood abroad, her writings,... More

I never thought in my life that I would get to see a Nobel Prize in Literature or Pulitzer Prize so up close - so cool! All of the keys given to her by the various cities and the numerous medals honoring her works is housed at the visitor center/gift shop. If you get a chance, pay the fee and... More

I had read The Good Earth and read a little about Pearl. I wanted to see what the Pearl S. Buck foundation was "all about." This visit enlightened me. The staff are great, and all volunteers; the video introduction is well worth the time; and the tour is very interesting. The shop is crammed full of nice things.

If you are interested in PSB, you should take the house tour. The tour takes about an hour and the cost is reasonable (around $10). Make sure you call ahead and find out what time the tours are running on the day you are visiting. The grounds and gift shop are open to all and free.

Pearl Bucks home is a beautiful stone house tucked away on many acres in Bucks County. It is beautifully decorated and has a lot of Asian influence due to her work with adopting infants. The Christmas time is particularly impressive with their candlelight tours and the beautiful display of trees. Her adopted daughter teaches elementary school nearby.

Pearl S Buck was a truly great American heroine being an author and pioneer in Amer-Asian relations. A tour of her house tells her story and helps to support her sponsorhsip of underprivileged children. Having won the Pulitzer for her novel, The Good Earth and the Nobel Prize for her humanitarian works, this is one life worth celebrating as an... More
