My husband and I visited Harrisburg a few years ago and were walking distance to the city island park. It is Harrisburg's Fairmount Park or Central Park except is has miniature golf, boat rentals, beach, batting cages, trails, and a minor league baseball team. Easily a day full of fun. more
City Island is in the middle of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg. It has a number of different activities, especially in the summer.
