About
WE HAVE MOVED TO BANGALOW! Hammer and Hand is a collective of passionate artists who work with metal. You will find an eclectic range of handmade and individually designed jewellery, sculpture and stainless steel utensils such as cake servers, salad servers, ladels and spoons. The gallery is a working studio and so during opening hours (10am - 4pm 7 days a week) there will always be a practising artist at work at the bench. You can book a jewellery making lesson with one of the members or rent a jewellery bench upstairs at daily or weekly rates. We look forward to meeting you on your next visit to the Byron Shire.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A GEM of a shop ... from delicately exquisite to the wonderfully wild and free ... I found about a dozen things I doubt I can live without

Some of the most original and artistic, hand made pieces. So much choice. I stood there watching one of the members making jewellery at the front desk while I was there. I’ll be back 😊

A very interesting gallery and workspace, some beautiful silver jewellery and other items were for sale. I particularly liked work by Jen Banks and Lucille Atkins - inspired by nature, uncluttered pieces.
There are jewellery work benches used by different members of the collective and classes are available from Thomas Frank.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting to purchase unique hand made jewellery at reasonable prices or any jewellery artists interested in the collective workshop approach.

Thank you very much for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit, and by the sound of it, had a lovely, informative chat with the collective member who was working on the day of your visit. At Hammer and Hand we all love what we do, and also love being part of a collective - it's always lovely to share that passion with people who drop in. Thanks again.

Discovered the industry area - what a great place - more local Councils should proceed to set up avenues like this for the convenience of local artists and patrons to find unique art works.

A hands on shared space for the creative people from in and around the Byron Shire who work with silver, metal and semi precious stones.

A small gallery is attached to the work room and if you are lucky you can see one of these talented people at work.

If you’re looking for an unusual or original piece pop in. I’m thinking if you had an idea in mind just ask they are helpful and full of information.

We visited Hammer and Hand yesterday as part of a wonderful initiative OPEN STUDIOS ART TRAIL of the Byron/Ballina region
Bruce Pringle entertained and educated us with a wonderful demonstration of sand blasting jewellery-making. His passion and enthusiasm along with comical quips enhanced our visit enormously
We recommend a visit to this well stocked studio for travellers and locals

I always send people here, and visit myself often. it is so interesting & unique. You can see the artisans actually making their Art on site, including a blacksmith, who is a truly original quirky & quality artist! The jewelry is also fabulous, & really affordable. So jewelry, sculpture, metal spoons & LOTS of other things in the wonderful Arts & Industry Estate Byron Bay!

"Hammer and Hand" is a great place to visit because it is so unique. The craft work is beautiful and made by local artists. It includes jewellery, art, utensils, sculpture etc and you can talk to the very friendly artists while they work. You can have something custom made for that very special gift, choose an unusual souvenir from your holiday or have a piece of your own jewellery repaired. They are not pushy about sales and make you feel welcome to wander through at your leisure. There are some "cheeky" or humorous pieces, as well as classic styles. There is parking out the front.
