This was my first time in Jim thorpe and was not aware that the mansion was giving tours. It needs to be advertised more so that the history does not go unnoticed.

We were privileged with a personal tour of this lovely 1880s Victorian B&B. The custom Italian entranceway with mosaic flooring, Tiffany etched window dividers and classic architecture with matching furnishing throughout was a delight to behold. A wonderful tour of a beautiful Victorian style home with eighteen rooms. Original staircase worth the trip in and of itself. Richard DeFeo and his wife Ellen are a book of knowledge on not only the house but Jim Thorpe. You are instantly transported back in time and is a lovely way to spend some time.

When you step on the porch you feel right at home with a warm welcome from a sweet couple and a fabulous glass of wine. I was fascinated by the brownstone porch roof/balcony. As a bricklayer/stonemason, I was amazed at the brownstone accents. Also the tiny butter joints between the brick. Our stay was short but sweet. I love B&B's and staying at DeFeo's gave us a genuine feel for the town.
