Our guide book (together with the owners of the B&B the night before) said that we had to visit these gardens on the way to returning our car in Philadelphia. Weather was a bit iffy but that didn't put us off at all (we're used to it in the UK) and the 5 hours we spent there went all too... more
put your walking shoes on, this is a nice place to take a stroll and take in the many displays of gardening, It will take you an hour or two just to walk around the areas without actually stopping to take in the sites. Kids may get bored after looking at so many flowers after awhile more
We are a long time fans of Longwood Gardens, making sure to visit it at least once every year. If we lived closer (we are driving from Maryland) I’m sure we’d be there more often. But over the years we also witnessed slow but sure decline of this facility. It started at the time when management was changed (few years... more
These gardens far surpassed my expectations. From the vibrant colors, to the beautiful fountains, every aspect of touring these gardens was spectacular. There were many strollers, couples, and just people enjoying being outside for the day. It is a fun day for anyone looking for something fun to do in the area. more
Just visited Longwood Gardens to see spring flowers. Thoroughly enjoyable and also had a great lunch at their restaurant, 1906. Much nicer than the cafeteria, of course, and very fine dining. more

We went on... more
Had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve at Longwood Gardens! Indoors we enjoyed the beautiful floral displays, organ sing-alongs & the Yuletide Buffet. Outdoors we braved the frigid & windy weather but enjoyed the outdoor holiday lights, dancing fountains and great ice skating show. I definitely recommend this as a great holiday getaway - looking forward to coming back... more
This is the type of place that is worth going back to again and again - especially in different seasons. Keep in mind that there is an extreme amount of walking involved and that the gardens and fountains may not keep the little ones attention for very long. Definitely pick up a map before you go in and keep track... more
Longwood Gardens are absolutely incredible and far exceeded our expectations. Longwood had been recommended to us by many friends as the "best" botanical garden in the nation, so we visited with high expectations. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Longwood. Plan to spend an ENTIRE day there -- to see it all takes that long. There are grand scale... more
