Mature trees, constantly changing gardens, fountains, ponds, lakes......a beautiful place to spend a day, or several days. Maybe a cooler day than Memorial Day weekend this year, but we can't pick the weather. Parts of the gardens were closed because they were setting up for an evening concert and fireworks display, but we would not have been able to stay... More

Gardens that will blow you away. Always perfect, always exciting. Fountains are breath taking, conservatories awe-inspiring. Even the restaurant is exceptional. Don't miss it

Three generations of my family visited Longwood Gardens together to celebrate my 60th birthday. We spent a full day walking through the vast beautifully-designed and carefully maintained gardins. I enjoyed the waterlilies and orchids; my young grandsons (ages 3 and 6) loved the tree houses, the indoor children's garden, and especially the fountains, where we saw displays set to music.... This place is an awesome place to witness the beauty in this world. Every display is meticulously thought out and there isn't a leaf out of place. My whole family was amazed and the water fountain show is great. We went with two 10 year old boys that weren't thrilled about seeing a "garden," but now are looking forward to... More

These gardens are beautifully kept. We asked one of the gardeners how many people work there and he said about 1,200, 350 paid staff and the rest volunteers. The conservatory seems to go forever. You can see all the gardens in a day, but it's more fun to visit some parts on one trip and save other parts for later.... More

You don't need to have a green thumb or be a master gardener to appreciate Longwood. Every display is flawless and over the top - from topiary to 100 year old Bonsai to native gardens. Great for elementary age kids and up. Wear comfortable walking shoes!

Du Pont - thank you for saving these wonderful groves and building garden conservatories and fountains to amaze us throughout the years. The grounds here are breathtaking. Plus, there are historical films and exhibits to help you understand not only the significance of the gardens and how Du Pont came to develop them, but also the significance of the accomplishments... Wear comfortable shoes because you will do a lot of walking. The best views are in the consevatory because they offer the largest amount of flowers in one location. Take an outdoor walk as well and enjoy the greenery and fresh air. Take your time and allow a couple of hours to take it all in.
