This information center is located near Tanger Outlets. The people there were pretty helpful and the short film on the Amish were good! The people were ok but it is not anything special.

We were able to book a private guide through the Mennonite Information Center. Also, they show two outstanding movies explaining the Amish and Mennonites. This is definitely worth a stop.
My Husband and I went to this Mennonite Location where they had a replica of the Tabernacle and LOVE This place. We are ministers and we love to see this in real life scale. The staff was great and very helpful.
This is a great place to stop and slow down when you have been seeing the sights of the county.
My girls love the toys to play with near the back, and my wife enjoys the rocking chair near the reading room. I like to check out the books and I always buy a CD by the Marini sisters while...

Some good information, the tour is kind of 'blah', the movie is interesting. There is shopping inside the Center with pretty much nothing regional as far as Amish/Mennonite, but all fair trade items from overseas.
We saw a life-sized rendition of the Old Testament Tabernacle, and a guide explained the various parts. Guests sat during the presentation. Very informative. They also offered films describing the Amish and the Mennonites, very tastefully and well-done.
Hi! If you like to learn about new places, peoples, cultures and religions, this is the place! When I first arrived the lady was SO friendly, in a genuine way. I'm not religious, but open to learning. This was the place! They didn't hide their religiousness, and even invited me to join their church, but it was all open and...

I live in Lancaster. When friends come to visit and want to see the Amish areas I always get a tour guide from the Mennonite Information Center. They are informed, informative, respectful of the Amish culture and know where to go to see the people, the beautiful farmland and genuine crafts.
Allow one hour. The 30-minute movie (for a fee) is a great introduction to the Amish people. There is also a 15-minute free movie that follows about tenets of Mennonite faith. Add 15 minutes for the gift shop. We went to the Amish Village afterward (10 minutes away).
