Years back, I interviewed the president of the Martin Guitar Co. They were so kind to accomodate that meeting so that I could complete a project for one of my college classes. Martin does about as good a job giving tours as making guitars. They're conducted by knowledgeable factory employees and if anything is hidden it is hidden so well you don't know it. Martin Guitars has a new modern and (some parts) comuterized operation. They provide tours with very knowledgable guides and you will see the entire process from raw wood to finished product. Great FREE tour! Yes, FREE tour! The place is great for all people, even kids. It's very interesting and worth it. Took us about two hours total. It was our guides birthday and he was very friendly, funny, and informative. I'm not in to guitars at all and really enjoyed it!

This tour takes you to the floor of the factory where the actual guitars are produced. You are taken through each step and explained the process of the production of the Martin Guitar.
