I highly recommend the Duquesne Incline to visitors to Pittsburgh. On a nice day, the view of the city and three rivers is priceless. Cost is inexpensive, the incline itself is historic site and the top station has interesting pictures of industrial Pittsburgh. And that’s not it. Walk a couple of doors away for casual meal at a sports bar/restaurant... more

Definitely worth the visit Total cost up and down $4, free parking I would not go as far as calling it a museum, but it is definitely unusual method of transportation. There is als a number of exhibits on the upper platform about the history of inclines and environmental impacts of industry For mechanically "inclined", don't forget a quick tour... more

As others have noted, the Duquesne Incline is a great attraction. From the airport it is a relatively quick side trip and is easily accessible from I-279 just before entering the Ft. Pitt Tunnel and running around the west end of Mt. Washington. Free parking is across the street at the signaled intersection immediately BEFORE reaching the lower station and... more

It's easy to park at the far end of Station Square and take the pedestrian walkway across Carson Street. The view is fantastic. Just as interesting (to me at least) are all the old pictures posted in the visitor's center at the top... more

It's definitely worth the trip up either the Mon or Duquesne inclines to Mt. Washington. It's also the easiest ways up the hill if you have dinner reservations at one of the many restaurants on Mt. Washington. Park at Station Square and ride up! more

The Duquesne Incline is a “must” when visiting Pittsburgh. The overlook at the top affords the best views in my opinion of Pittsburgh and the three rivers. The Monongahela Incline and the overlooks along Grandview Ave. are great but this one is the best. Near the top are some restaurants where we stopped for lunch. And the incline station house... more
