I would recommend the Duquesne Incline to anyone who visits Pittsburgh! We visited during the day, but you can also travel to this destination in the evening for a nighttime view of the city. It is only $2/pp each way to ride the tram which takes you up the escarpment. Once you reach the top, you can go outside for... more

Both of the inclines in the area are worth checking out, though you really only need to ride one to get the idea. You can easily drive to the top of either. Both have interesting neighborhoods worth checking out if you have the time. I'm not buying the "second best view in the U.S." claim, but it is definitely a... more

The Duquesne Incline is an interesting experience. It would be a good attraction for someone who is visiting Pittsburgh from an area that does not have hills (like me). The incline is very old and runs as a nonprofit now. The $2.00 roundtrip that you pay helps keep the incline running. The view as you are going up and down... more

We rode the incline while spending one night in the area. It was worth it to see the view and get a few photos of the city. Also, paying the extra bit to see the inner workings was well worth it. more

These inclines are unique to Pittsburgh, so to me they are both must rides. I walked to this one from downtown across the bridge - took about 20 minutes, but there is a bus stop also. While the view from the Mon incline is a bit better in my opinion, this one has a self guided tour (for another 50... more

The Duquense incline is a fun ride up and down the Mountain with some spectacular scenery at the top. Great photo opportunities. There are also many good restaurants and coffee shops to visit near the incline. They have an excellent museum at the top with photos of Pittsburgh history including the great flood in 1936 and history and photos of... more

I had been to this place thinking that it would be some fun to watch Pittsburgh from the top, but it is nothing like that, please do not waste your precious time in going to this place. Also they charge $ 6 for the train to take you upstairs, do not waste your money as you can reach there via... more

Great view at night. Bring a Camara. Pay the extra $.50 at the top to see the 'behind the scenes'. more

A trip on either of the inclines is one of the unique things you can do in Pittsburgh! Drive up from downtown Pittsburgh to Mt. Washington (just a few minutes), park, take spectacular photos of the city then take the QUICK trip down/up the incline and enjoy the historic/retro fun. more

It is so worth the 4 bucks... I would recomending starting at the bottom and then going to the top... and enjoying the view and then returning to the lower station. The view of pittsburgh is historic from the top of the Duquesne Incline!! more
