We had calm waters going out. A little rougher going back, the ferry was smooth and safe in both. The staff was helpful loading and unloading our bikes and backpacks.

The ferry was punctual, clean and comfortable and parking was convenient.

If you take the slow ferry, you can take your car, but why bother? Block Island is small and you can easily ride your bike. Or just walk to Ballads for a day on the beach and cocktails. The fast ferry can get you there in well under an hour.

Don't waste your time on the slow ferry, you want to spend your time sight seeing on land . Besides the fast ferry is an experience in and of itself.
