If you are in Rhode Island you need to make a stop at Sachuest! We drove up for the day from Boston and were not disappointed. We got a little lost (we're not really from Boston, just visiting there too) trying to find the beach but we found plenty of people willing to help us out. We went on a... more

Loved this beach - it's clean, quiet, not a long walk to the water and the water is WARM (rare in New England)! This is a beach-lovers' beach - you can relax and listen to the surf, the seagulls, and the laughter of children playing in the gently breaking waves - not to boom boxes and the constant ding-ding-ding of... more

No honky tonk t-shirt shops or boardwalk. Just sand, dunes, water, snack bar and locker rooms. Plenty of room to spread your blanket. Almost two miles of sand; some rocks at western end. Get there before 10 on weekends, as lots fill up by late morning. more
