This state park is extremely well maintained. Everything is easily marked and rangers are available to answer questions

GREAT beach, lined with palm trees and white sands. there is a fee to get into the park but well worth it...secluded and relaxing

Quiet beaches, lots of nature. Guaranteed to see at least one alligator!!

We visited Hunting Island State Park while touring around the Carolinas in May. The huge long sandy beaches can look a bit wild as they are strewn with fallen trees but when the tide goes out you have a superb beach were you can always find a gorgeous spot to lap up the sun.

This island is beautiful. The beach was great, the trails are beautiful - saw deer and raccoons and lots of lizards and the lighthouse has an awesome view. I liked Hunting Island State Park much better before they re-did the beach! Now it's confusing and if you're traveling in a convoy, you had better stay tail light to tail light or you will lose one another. It's for the deers!
