Very poor service, eaten alive out the back whilst waiting a very long time for the drinks, the food and the bill. And to top it off the wrong orders were delivered. Not recommended- there are many much better places in Charleston so don't waste your time.

We happened upon The Griffin while walking in the Waterfront Park area looking for a place for lunch. This pub was a lucky find - cheap beer and really good fish and chips! Friendly service, too.

Really enjoyed having a beer at this pub. There selection was generous and fairly priced. Good pub settings, not a typical tourist bar. Food was good as well.

We got to this pub each time we are in Charleston. Its a nice low key place to enjoy a casual evening.

I'm a local, and this is my favorite pub in Charleston. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and good food. The fish & chips, as well as chicken quesadilla are sooo tasty. Chat with one of the bartenders, or even the nearest pub stool patron. Watch a game...or just enjoy your food. Good for a solo person, or a group of friends!... More

We were having trouble finding a place to eat lunch, so asked some costumed workers for a suggestion. They directed us to the Griffon. It was fairly empty, with some nice music playing. We decided to share a Southwestern Chicken Salad and a Nachos Supreme. We were entertained by checking out all the decorated dollar bills on the walls. There... More

Stopped by lunch on a hot June day. Great fish and chips - fresh fish, crisp chips and big cold beer. And I mean great fish and chips. I grew up in New England and know my F&C, and these are good. Very friendly staff. When I head back to Charleston, I"m heading back to The Griffon.

.....this is such a shame because it is such a cool place. It is a cute little english pub with dollar bills on the wall as a tradition. The bartender must hate customers because he was arrogant, unfriendly, boasting about himself the entire time we were there to all his friends at the end of the bar. We had to... More

Just happened to pass the Griffon while visiting the Waterfront Park, and decided to have lunch there. It was an excellent choice, and I ordered the Fish and Chips. I think it was the best that I ever had. The restaurant was cozy, and very busy, and the lone waitress that was working was unbelievable. I don't know how she... More
