Ed opened his walking tour business in 1996 and would consider it a privilege to personally show you his city.Your tour will explore the cracks and crevices of old, beautiful Charleston, touching on many subjects such as the Civil War, the Great Earthquake, the Preservation Movement, and our magnificent architecture. Must sees on your tour include the Four Corners of Law, the Battery, and Rainbow Row. « less

My wife and I took the walking tour with Ed Grimball and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Ed has a charming easy going manner. He has a vast knowledge about Charleston and its history. I thought his tour was worth the money.

One of the best tours I have ever taken, anywhere. Wonderful stories, beautiful sights, and Ed makes sure to show off his city to the best of his ability.

It's hard not to immediately fall in love with Ed's slow southern drawl, charm, and gentlemanly manners. However, i do agree with the previous post that there was too little information packed into the 3-hour tour. Another poster had mentioned that he prefered his information be delivered through a fire hose. And Ed's means was more like through a garden... More

Ed Grimball's walking tour is about an hour too long. The information and actual walk could easily have been delivered in less time without hurting the quality of the tour. There was a lot of discussion that had nothing to do with the history of Charleston. It is a tour guide's duty to get customers back on track for the... More

If you are looking for a fun, friendly, light-hearted, educational and enjoyable walking tour in historic Charleston, this is for you. You see all the important sights from someone who clearly loves his city. He prefaces the tour with the fact that he is Southern and doesn't move or talk at a frenetic pace. He will take any questions affably,... More

I agree with just about everything previously said about Ed. He is a really sincere, sweet guy with a great knowledge of Charleston and a true love of his city. The only issue I have with Ed is that I would have liked to have more information in the limited time we had with him. In fairness to Ed, I... More

Today four of us took Ed's tour, and it was a delight. He is a master of the "back story," all sorts of details and information that make the place come alive. He is polite, extremely well informed, and makes his tour of Charleston one you will really enjoy and remember. Thanks, Ed.

We took this tour on November 26th. The tour was excellent. Ed really knows his Charleston history and his love for the city is clearly evident. It makes the tour all the more memorable. He genuinely cared about our experience and took the time to learn the names and home base for each group in the tour! He has a... More

We and two other couples spent 3 hours walking and talking with Ed. He is entertaining, informative, gracious, responsive, and a great guy who loves his hometown. We could stop and explore, take photos, and converse without being confined to a carriage seat. We could also walk off some of last night's meal. Ed knows his history and his town.... More

My husband George & I took a private walking tour of the lovely City of Charleston with Ed Grimball this past Monday. He met us at our B&B at 9:30, and off we went. I asked him to take us to all the places you would not ordinarily find on your own, or with the horse & carriage tour (... More
