I was looking for a new adventure to take some visitors to and a friend recommended this place. I've been back three times already! Their hives are kept off-site so they won't be disturbed. They do have one indoor hive behind plexiglass so you can see what the little critters are doing in there. Don't look too long or the... More

Off the beaten path, this is the best and cheapest zoo you will find. Feeding the lemurs is fun, and you find you could do it for hours.

And, not only did the kids love it, but the adults did too!! Have been there on several occasions with friends and with my sons and my grandchildren. We enjoyed the zoo there, and learning about the bees and other species of our area. Held my first tarantula! A great restaurant with wonderful seafood, seasoned and fried to excellence. Loved... Purchased some lotion--something with Sandalwood--for my wife... not only did I love the way it smelt, she couldn't get enough of it. I know she's had issues with sensitive skin, and she didn't have any problems with their products. The people we bought it from were sincere and friendly, which just topped it off for us. Worth taking a look... More

I am so excited someone is actually treating the public with reasonable prices in such a tourist town...we just moved to Summerville and everything is so expensive to do entertain your kids here. I took my 16yr old there because we heard you could hand-feed the ring tail lemurs (she grew up with the Kraft brothers tv show 'Zaboomafoo' :)... More

Bee City is great because it has just about everything. Tickets into the petting zoo are $4 and well worth it. Animals they have include prairie dogs, rabbits, goats, deer, sheep, emus, exotic birds, an ocelot, llamas/alpacas, donkeys, chickens, turkeys, macaws, a coatimundi, tortoises, and wallabies, and you're allowed to feed most of them. They also have a lot of... More

I'm not sure why everyone loves this place, I did NOT!! My husband, 2 yr old daughter and I all went last summer and we thought it was awful!!! Nothing about this place was appealing to us...it just felt like a gross farm in some country-folks backyard. The exhibits were boring and weird. There was this one house-like thing where... More

What a quirky, fantastic place off the beaten path! My sister, who lives in Summerville, brought me here when I was visiting her in late June. There is a great little gift shop with fantastic honeys - I purchased several different kinds, but the creamed honey was my favorite. They also have a wide array of other bee-related gifts, candles,... More
